University of Technology Bahrain (UTB) celebrated the glorious National Day of the Kingdom of Bahrain, marking its 51st anniversary this year as the most celebrated national pride in the history of the Kingdom, in a huge attendance of community partners and UTB members participating in the myriad of cultural presentations and performances, folkloric arts, traditional foods, and fun activities.The celebration began with the singing of the national anthem, which has been the joyous expression of liberty and honour over the years for the ascension of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa into the kingship throne.Dr. Hasan Almulla, President of UTB, welcomed all attendees with great enthusiasm and pride on UTB’s celebration of Bahrain National Day. He expressed his deep appreciation for the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, particularly his support of the university and of education in general. He also praised His Majesty’s noble achievements and reform initiatives for education, economy, innovation, and health among others. He reiterated the role of the university in linking students to various national events in the community to inspire and deepen sense of patriotism and belongingness, consolidate the principles of tolerance, coexistence, unity and respect for others, and enhance their inclinations as future leaders of the country.Giving light to the celebration were spoken poetry and sand art commemorating the unparalleled achievements of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the rich national history, followed by a ceremonial cake cutting to signify longevity and prosperity for the Kingdom of Bahrain, foremost His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa – The King of the Kingdom of Bahrain; His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa – the Crown Prince and Prime Minister; the ministers; and the people of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Alongside the opening ceremony were photography, pottery, wicker baskets making, henna inscriptions, food trucks and unlimited traditional coffee and food tasting and other fun-filled activities reflecting the national heritage.
