The vision outlines the government’s goals for the next decade
Dubai's Sheikh Mohammed introduces new laws to regulate drones in the city
Dubai Ruler and UAE Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the launch of the ‘we the UAE 2031’ vision on Tuesday.The vision – under the leadership of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan – outlines the government’s goals for the next decade.“Today, within the annual meetings of the UAE government, we launched “We the UAE 2031”, which represents our governmental vision for the next decade. We finished our previous strategic session in 2021. Today we begin our journey towards new summits under the leadership, sponsorship and leadership of my brother Mohamed bin Zayed, may God protect him,” Sheikh Mohammed said via a Twitter post.

The six topics discussed on by the UAE government, included the future of education, legislative updates, Emiratisation, Cop28, economic partnerships and the digital future.

The ‘We The UAE 2031’ vision aims to double the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) from AED1.49 trillion to AED 3 trillion.The UAE also outlined its aim to double the number of tourists to 40 million over the next decade, contributing AED 450 billion to GDP.In addition, the National Tourism Strategy, which was announced this month is set in place to attract AED100 billion in tourism investment.

The ‘We The UAE 2031’ vision also aims to boost industrial sector to AED 300 billion, and will include an advanced industry sector worth AED 70 billion.Additionally, the Emirates aims to generate AED 800 billion in non-oil exports over the next 10 years, ranking it as one of the top 10 countries in the world in the scientific innovation index, and also in attracting international talent.The UAE also aims to be one among the top 10 nations in hydrogen energy production, by reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 18 percent.For all the latest business news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and LinkedIn, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
